Modesty Blaise is a newspaper strip character created by British writer Peter O´Donnell.
The first printed adventures of Modesty appeared in the London Evening Standard in 1963 with art by Jim Holdaway. They were a very successful team in the sixties, and when Holdaway died in 1970, a Spanish artist named Enric Badia Romero was engaged. The writer, Peter O´Donnel, has been writing numerous adventures both as cartoon strips for newspapers and albums, aswell as novels.
The character Modesty Blaise is a symbol for an independent, strong and very cool woman in the adventure section of books, comics and movies, always very British in a Pop Art way.
